     2. Journey in Women’s National League 1 (NL1W)

After an exceptional 2023–2024 season, during which our women’s team won both the Geneva Cup and the Cantonal Championship, the team was promoted to the national level (NL1W) (elite national league) in September 2024. The team’s first season in NL1W in 2024–2025 defied expectations, as IBBC Women finished 6th and narrowly missed out on a playoff place.

Their second season, in 2025–2026, proved more challenging, with injuries affecting the squad throughout the year. Despite these setbacks, the campaign became a historic one for IBBC Women: thanks to an outstanding finish to the regular season, with four wins in their last five games, the team secured qualification for the NL1 playoffs for the national title — the first national playoff appearance in the club’s history.

This rapid rise reflects the determination of our players and our club’s commitment—run 100% by volunteers—to sporting excellence and the promotion of women’s basketball.
