Based in the Nations–Sécheron quarter on Geneva’s Right Bank, playing in the Association Cantonale Genevoise de Basketball (ACGBA).
Founded in Geneva, International Geneva BBC brings together athletes, coaches and families from over 35 nationalities across the Geneva metropolitan and international organization communities. We develop competitive youth players while offering senior teams playing in Swiss basketball leagues.
Our coaching philosophy emphasizes athletic development, tactical discipline, and strong moral character. Whether competing for the Swiss national title or learning fundamental basketball mechanics in our youth academy, every athlete receives high-level training in certified Geneva gym facilities.
International Geneva BBC is the basketball club of international Geneva: a place where people from the organisations, the permanent missions and the companies of the canton play together, in two languages and many more accents.
We field competitive senior teams in the cantonal leagues, we bring young players through, and we hold to the same standard on and off the floor — technical work, discipline, and a club anyone can walk into.
In September 2026 the club launched its first mini-basket squad: a mixed group for children aged 7 and 8 who want to discover basketball and have fun doing it.
Every session builds team spirit and respect, coordination, balance and motor skills — and confidence, with new friends in a club where two languages and a dozen passports are entirely ordinary. Qualified coaches lead every session. CHF 360 for the season, practices and tournaments included. Write to the club to reserve a place.
Basketball has tied this club to international Geneva for more than forty years. In the 1980s our players came largely from the International Labour Office, and the club took the floor as BIT/Sécheron; by 1993 its members came so predominantly from the United Nations agencies, the permanent missions and the organisations of the canton that it was renamed International Basket-ball Club de Genève.
That link is still live. We have represented Geneva at the United Nations Inter-Agency Games since 1993, taking gold in 1993, 2013, 2015–2019 and 2022–2025.
If you work at the UN, the ILO, a permanent mission, an NGO or any of the international organisations here — or you have just moved to Geneva and you play — you already belong in this club.
